The Moultonborough Recreation Department’s Ice Rink

Open 9am - 10pm Daily
The Moultonborough Skating Rink is now open, weather and ice conditions permitting. Please check the newsline (253-4160) for the most up-to-date information on the ice rink. The Moultonborough Ice Rink is unsupervised is a "Skate at Your Own Risk" facility. However, Recreation Dept. employees and designated rink volunteers have the right to ask anyone behaving inappropriately to leave.
SCHEDULE:Monday through Sunday:
The rink is available for Open Skate except for other posted times.
Open Skate is for anyone who would like to skate. Sticks and pucks are allowed during some of these times, with the understanding that when there are "open skaters" the rink is to be divided in half and those with sticks stay on one half and open skate on the other. If the rink is very crowded - sticks must come off of the ice totally.
Other posted times:
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Fridays:
(through mid-February), from 2:30 – 4:30 the Rink is reserved for the high school hockey team for practice.Tuesdays at 6pm & Saturdays 2:00 – 4:00 ish:
"Mystery" New Hampshire Saturday Hockey Game –
These games are for adults 18 years old and older who would like to play "pick up" hockey. Numbers vary weekly, but this time is set aside each week for the game. Due to safety and liability no one under 18 will be permitted to play.Fridays: From 12:00 – 2:30 the Rink is reserved for Winter Days for the Moultonborough School District’s winter program. This will be held weather permitting Jan. 11th - Feb. 8th
Sundays: 2:00-4:00 is designated as absolutely no sticks and pucks – No exceptions.
PROGRAMS (Start time TBA @ later date):
Learn to Skate –
There is no charge for this program. Our wonderful volunteers are putting on this program. If you would like to learn to skate or learn the proper mechanics to skate, this program may be for you. There is no age limit and it does not matter whether you have figure or hockey skates. Registration forms must be completed prior to the first meeting. Helmets strongly suggested for all.Instructional Skating Lessons (Beginner’s hockey/figure skating) –This is for beginner skaters. We will be dividing the ice in half and you can choose to learn either hockey or figure skating. Sticks and puck handling will be included in the hockey lessons. Hockey players must bring their own sticks and helmets. If you are interested in learning hockey skills or figure skating this is the program for you. Registration forms should be filled out and returned to the Recreation Dept. before the child participates in the program.
PLEASE NOTE:
Skaters are reminded to stay off of the ice when it is posted as closed and when the Zamboni is in use. Rink rules are posted at the rink, as well as schedules and any changes to the schedules. Skaters must adhere to the rules and schedules. Skaters are also asked to pick up after themselves and to not leave anything on the ice. If you have any questions, please call the Recreation Dept. at 476-8868, but remember if you are checking on ice conditions call 253-4160
If you have old skates you no longer use or they don’t fit you anymore, we will take them! You can drop off your skates at the Recreation Department or if you see a volunteer at the Ice Rink.
